Camp Hinds is a product of Innovative Readiness Training, a collaborative Department of Defense program that leverages military construction crews and community resources to multiply value and cost savings for participants. Itβs mission is to produce mission-ready forces through military training opportunities that also provide services for American communities.
At Camp Hinds, a key regional Boy Scouts of America camp, 353 Marines, Sailors, Soldiers, and Airmen made up the all military construction team. The service men and women prepared all sites, built an 1800β service road with parking lot, (5) pistol and rifle ranges, (4) pavilions, (5) 200 sf cabins, and a dormer extension on the existing lodge.
